  • How to provide more info, using a logfile

To provide OpenRSi with more info about a problem, please attach a logfile to your posting.

How do I produce a logfile?
Do one of the following and you should be alright.

    Method 1

Open a Telnet or PuTTY session and login with 'root'
    Apply the following command.

    init 4
    Enigma2 will stop
    Give the following command

    /usr/bin/enigma2
Enigma2 will start again. The output is shown in the telnet/PuTTY window.
Copy the output to a logfile. Attach this file to your posting.

    Method 2:

Open a Telnet or PuTTY session and login with 'root'
    Apply thefollowing command.

    init 4
    Enigma2 will stop
If you use a HDD as storage, give the following command

    cd /hdd/usr/bin/enigma2 >enigma2_logfile.log 2>&1
Enigma2 will now create a logfile on your harddisk and name it enigma2_logfile.log

Use this file to attach to your posting.

If you use some USB storage, change /hdd accordingly.
